I am considering pulling the trigger on a pair of 1999 Yamaha 250's. I've read a lot about compression and gathered that consistency throughout cylinders is most important. The motors are reported to have 110# throughout all 12 cylinders. What is the minimum compression? and what should a good engine read? I have a mid-80s Bravo single cylinder 250cc. It goes about 42mph. It does bog sometimes and sputter from time to time. However, it's been doing this for years and there . I tested my Yamaha Bravo 250's compression and it is 135lb. I tried searching for what the compression should be on these engines and could not find it.
